UniPort - Universal Port Access Server
UniPort is an universal port access server that accept any
call types including: analog data or fax (modem), digital
data (ISDN), fax over IP (FoIP), and voice over IP (VoIP).
UniPort frees service providers from port/hardware resource
allocation based on anticipated service needs and enable single
access call-in number for multiple service.
Based on open system platform with various PSTN, WAN, and
LAN interfaces, UniPort enable service providers to deliver
integrated IP based voice, fax, and data services by using
a single device. It also offers an integrated router, network
address translation (NAT), web cache, interactive voice response
(IVR), VPN support, and RADIUS client for authentication,
authorization, and accounting (AAA).
UniPort digital modems with its remote access software allow
dial-in users to connect to the network at speeds up to 56
Kbps V.90 with error correction and data compression support.
Extensive filter-based firewall is also available to protect
the network. For internet access application, UniPort reduces
backhaul traffic by providing web cache service.
UniPort with its voice gateway software enable conventional
telephony devices to be connected via the internet. Based
on H.323 standard, UniPort ensures interoperability with third
party H.323-compliant systems (terminal, gateways, and gatekeepers),
including Microsoft NetMeeting. UniPort supports multiple
industry standard voice codecs including G.729 -for optimum
voice quality with minimum bandwidth-, voice activity detection
(VAD)/silence suppression, echo cancellation, and fax protocols.
By using the built-in IVR, UniPort can provide voice prompts
and digit collection for service identification and selection,
user authentication, and call destination identification as
needed in VoIP 2-stage dialing implementation.
By eliminating the cost of multiple devices and utilizing
standard hardware and software interfaces, the space-saving
UniPort provides unsurpassed low cost IP-telephony access
solution. Some of UniPort applications are PoP, VoIP Gateway,
and Call Center.
