CDS-MTE will reduce operational cost by replacing hard to find
costly tapes with low cost high capacity CD/DVD. No more need for
large space for media storage and CDS-MTE also frees users from tedious
maintenance tasks such as head and roller/capstan cleaning or even
loading the reel tape. By taking advantage of network connectivity,
manual transportation of tapes to data processing center also not required.
This will further reduces overall operation costs.
CDS-MTE shorten the tape operation time by reducing time of rewind
and other tape positioning command to less than 1 sec. In most cases,
it is also possible to perform archiving without user intervention then
enable unattended operation. Utilizing hard disk, flash disk, and CD/DVD media,
as storage media, CDS-MTE also increase the reliability of the storage systems.
CDS-MTE supports magnetic tape interfaces, such as: Pico, Pertec, Kennedy,
Storagetek, Teac, and SCSI. In telecommunication industry, CDS-MTE supports
popular switches including AT&T/Lucent 5ESS, Ericsson AXE, Nec NEAX, and
Siemens EWSD and automatically collects subscriber and system related data.
Sample applications of collected data are: billing, traffic analysis,
and alarm management. The system can convert data from various switches
to a standard format and can be programmed to distribute data to a specified
destination in realtime or batch mode.
CDS-MTE is a compact, low power, with rich features, based on open system
platform housed in a rack mountable 19" chassis with only 2 or 4U height.
The system consist of Base Unit and Bus Coupler Module. Option for 220VAC or
48VDC supply is available.
CDS-MTE comes with TCP/IP over ethernet and serial as a standard.
Other networking standards are available as options.
The system is designed to operate unattended and supports local or
remote maintenance with command line and web interface. System monitor
module with comprehensive system log aids system maintenance and troubleshooting.
